Description

Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino-acid peptide first isolated from thymosin fraction 5 of calf thymus tissue in the 1970s. The synthetic form supplied here is identical in sequence to the natural peptide and carries the same N-terminal acetyl group. It is one of the most extensively characterized thymic peptides in the research literature.

This listing is the 10 mg vial. Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized Thymosin Alpha-1; the 5 mg size is listed separately.

Note: Thymosin Alpha-1 is for research use only. Not for human consumption.

Thymosin Alpha-1 Mechanism of Action (Based on Research)

Thymosin Alpha-1 is studied chiefly as a modulator of innate and adaptive immune signaling. Its full mechanism is not settled; the observations below recur across the non-clinical literature.

Toll-Like Receptor Signaling

In vitro work with dendritic cells and macrophages describes Thymosin Alpha-1 acting through Toll-like receptors (TLR2 and TLR9 are the most frequently reported), with downstream changes in MyD88-dependent signaling and cytokine transcription.

Dendritic Cell and T-Cell Differentiation

Animal and cell-culture studies report changes in dendritic cell maturation markers and in the differentiation of T-cell subsets following Tα1 exposure, which is the basis for its use as a reference compound in thymic-signaling research.

Cytokine Expression

Several groups have characterized shifts in interleukin and interferon expression in cultured immune cells exposed to the peptide, alongside changes in indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase activity in dendritic cells.

Thymosin Alpha-1 Research Applications

Thymosin Alpha-1 is used as a tool peptide in studies of thymic function, dendritic cell biology, TLR signaling, and cytokine networks, and as a comparator in research on other thymic and immunomodulatory peptides.

Certificate of Analysis (COA)

Every vial of Thymosin Alpha-1 offered by Evolve Peptides comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) to verify its identity, purity, and quality. These certificates are based on independent third-party testing, ensuring that each batch exceeds 99% purity and meets stringent analytical criteria for research applications.

Our COAs typically include:

  • Purity analysis (e.g., HPLC or mass spectrometry)
  • Identity confirmation
  • Batch number and production date
  • Storage conditions and solubility notes

You can access a sample COA PDF on each product page or request the specific COA for your batch after purchase. This documentation supports transparency and gives researchers confidence in the consistency and integrity of our products.
